Architecture and Design
RESEARCH
These ongoing research projects explore collective spaces — those shared environments of urban life — in terms of how they are shaped, imagined, and experienced across multiple scales, from the body to the city and from perception to design. This work aims to understand how collective spaces can be read, understood, and shaped to become inclusive, meaningful, and adaptable.
The different research projects use a multidisciplinary and multimethod approach, integrating spatial analysis, critical cartography, visual storytelling, and design interventions. These strategies examine how collective spaces emerge from cultural practices, social dynamics, and urban narratives, images, and morphologies.
The focus is on uncovering the layers of memory, identity, and interaction that constitute public realms. The ultimate goal is to inform more humane, adaptive, and culturally resonant ways of designing the collective spaces in which urban life unfolds.
